Articles I have Written

Use of Gender Pronouns (he/him) (she/her) on email signatures and profiles?

At the November 16, 2023 Miamisburg School Board meeting, Dr. Laura Blessing declared a calamity day on April 8th due to Miamisburg's being in the path of a total eclipse of the sun.

Dirty Politics

The Ohio Teachers Union PAC Educate Ohio Action Fund says that "Scott Taylor is wrong for Miamisburg". They are not only going after Scott Taylor, They are going after 85 other candidates who dare to stand against their policies.

Issue 1 and 2

While Issues 1 and 2 are not school board issues, It is important to know what these issues are and how they will affect students.

Issue 1's language is too broad.   It states that "Every individual has the right to make and carry out one's own reproductive decisions including but not limited to...".  Those individuals could be argued to be minor children and the "not limited to"   could be argued to be hormone therapy or even a sex change.  This amendment is an attack on parents rights and children should not be making medical decision with out parental  involvement.

My concern with Issue 2 is that Marijuana Affects Developing Brains. Voting yes on Issue two is a vote for increasing adolescent use.

Is Critical Race Theory being taught in Miamisburg?

At the August 23, 2023 board meeting, Ann Niess, the vice-president of the school board, stated that she “has been asked a few times, now, if critical race theory has been taught in Miamisburg schools.” In response, she provided a history of critical race theory, but stopped short of answering the question.

Earlier this year, the Miamisburg school board approved a district representative’s travel to a conference sponsored by a partisan organization called Voice4Equity. The organization promotes the concepts of systemic bias, equity, social justice, and systemic oppression, using history to promote the agenda. The district also purchased a race-based equity training program called Equity Fellows.

Transgenderism

The reality is that individuals are  male or female.  Adolescents transitioning to the other gender is harmful to students and if in most (if not all) does not resolve the underlying issue.  We need to stop making this a rights issue but focus on what is best for our students.

Some children latch onto gender dysphoria as a way of coping with trauma or other distress. A therapist needs to question their understanding of gender in order to determine why the they might have fixated on that as a source of their problem.

How will Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Affect Our Students

You need to know that Diversity Equity and Inclusion is a major push of the current administrations blueprint "Advancing Equity and Racial Justice Through the Federal Government"
