On Monday August 21, 2023, Scott Taylor, Miamisburg School board candidate will be hosting a Town Hall meeting. Since March of this year Scott has visited hundreds of homes in dozens of neighborhoods. The purpose of this meeting is to listen to thoughts and concerns regarding the Miamisburg School District.

Things Scott stand for:

  • Parents rights

  • Financial accountability

  • Discipline in our schools

  • Curriculum that benefits students

  • The reality that there are only two genders

Notes from the August 17, 2023, Miamisburg School Board Meeting. The meeting was lightly attended given that the 2023 - 2024 school year started this week. Grade Banding: Dr. Laura Blessing provided a report of the status of multiple housing projects across the district and the impact it is having on enrollment by grade level. She noted that Grade Banding would provide better utilization of classroom space across the district. Dale Toadvine stated that grade banding would create additional transportation cost but would be worth the expense. Several individuals have expressed concern that students would have additional travel time since they would not be attending the elementary school nearest them.


Friday August 18, 2023, Football Game This evening Miamisburg played West Carrollton winning 49 - 0. Miamisburg and West Carrollton have a long history when it comes to football. The first NFL (formally APFA) game was played at Triangle Park Dayton Ohio, on October 3, 1920. In that game, the first touchdown was made by a West Carrollton graduate and the first field goal was kicked by a Miamisburg graduate.


The Miamisburg Marching Band presented parts of their 2023 program "Cold Hearted Snake," featuring music by Andrew Markworth, including the 1989 Paula Abdul classic, "Cold Hearted." The Miamisburg Marching Band is off to another great start.




Friday August 18, 2023, Football Game

This evening Miamisburg played West Carrollton winning 49 - 0.

Miamisburg and West Carrollton have a long history when it comes to football.
