The decision to cancel their attendance at the Voice4Equity "When Women Lead" conference occurred after multiple parents expressed their concerns regarding associating the Miamisburg School District with this organization.

The Miamisburg School Board approved and funded the thrip for Dr. Laura Blessing and Amy Dobson to be speakers at the Voice4Eqity conference at the March 16, 2023 school board meeting with unanimous approval.

Analysis of the voice4equity website shows this organization to be a partisan organization that promotes the concepts of systemic bias, equity, social justice and systemic oppression and using history to promote an agenda

The Voice4Equity event page states the following:

"Across many sectors, women still do not have equitable access to chief executive leadership roles and influential boards. This often leads to more male leaning perspectives in decision-making that can create unintended biases in policies, services, and opportunities that impact our clients, customers, community and even employees."

"The WWL Summit will bring together equity thought leaders from across the nation to engage in an innovative learning experience - for women, by women. Join this network of C-Suite education leaders and school leaders who have a passion for equity policy, and let's continue to develop current and future executive leaders."

Scott Taylor Candidate for Miamisburg School Board discussed the truth about the organization Voice4Equity (voice4equity.com) on April 29, 2023 at the Claypool building 4130 Linden Ave. In this presentation Scott went through the Voice4Equity website and explained what this organization stands for based on the organizations own material

Definition of terms:

Social Justice: By definition, social justice promotes equity and teaches students that justice can be applied based on any number of social groups. This is in contrast to justice which needs no modifier and is equal treatment under the law without bias. This is divisive since social justice discriminates against individuals based on gender and race.

Equity: Equity mean that everyone receives the same reward regardless of their service which has been shown to not be an effective mechanism for building productive societies.

Systemic Bias: The system is rigged against women and minorities resulting in a lower representation in leadership positions. This is counter productive discouraging minorities and encouraging bias. It is better to teach that can accomplish anything you set your mind to.

Systemic Oppression: Classifying individuals as oppressed or oppressors This is counter productive discouraging minorities and encouraging bias. It is better to teach that can accomplish anything you set your mind to.

Equitable Access: Implies a quota system in which individuals are put in positions not based on their abilities but by their racial or gender class

Monique Toussaint Senior Advisor, White House Initiative on Advancing Education, Equity, Excellence and Economic Opportunity will be a featured speaker implying white house endorsement of Equity in schools.
